Breitling Energy Corporation: shale and fracking

For several years, Chelgate has been promoting shale exploration and fracking in Europe and the Middle East on behalf of Texas-based Breitling Energy Corporation. This has involved a range of engagement, including:

• Engaging with councillors and residents as local authorities consider fracking
• Organising events to engage with local stakeholders, including events in Manchester and Blackpool
• Engaging with environmental groups, such as Greenpeace, organising debates
• Conference slots and debates across the UK, mainland Europe and Middle East
• Attendance at Labour and Conservative Party Conferences, hosting fringe events
• Giving evidence to Select Committees, presenting to MPs and Peers in the House of Commons, and hosting an Unconventional Oil and Gas APPG event
• Hosting an event at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg
• Media relations, appearing on national and regional radio and television, as well as in national and local newspapers
• National newspaper advertising
• Detailed social media support, including direct engagement with protesters and protest groups.
